Dalek Caprese Salad from Dining With the Doctor: Regenerated Whovian Cookbook

EX-TER-MI-NATE your hunger with a few quick bites of this easy Dalek Caprese Salad.

1 lb Roma tomatoes
1 lb fresh Mozzarella balls
18 fresh Basil Leaves
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
18 short pretzel sticks
6 coffee stirrers with rounded tips

Use your whisk arm to blend the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

Carefully use your lasers to cut half the Roma tomatoes into four slices. These will be your new generation of Dalek’s head. Cut the curved tops and bottoms off the remaining tomatoes to make a thicker slice for the body.

Cut the mozzarella into round slices about the same width as the tomatoes.

Now it’s time to assemble your pseudo-cyborg minions. Arrange your thicker body sized slices of tomato. Top them with a round of mozzarella. Dab the cheese with a bit of the balsamic vinegar mix, then top if with a thinner slice of tomato.

Add another layer of cheese, then vinegar mix, then a basil leaf. Repeat the process. Top it all off with one of the curved ends of your sliced tomatoes.

Create your whisk and plunger arms by carefully sliding two pretzel sticks into the bottom or second from bottom cheese slices.

Finish the effect by stabbing the dome with a round ended coffee stirrer to create the eye stalk. In the time it takes your allies to arrive at the Pandorica, you can easily create one Dalek soldier for each of them, guaranteeing you the upper hand once the alliance disintegrates.
