Disney Week: Tinkerbell’s Absinthe Tinkle

Disney Tinkerbell

Hey, Tink. I know you’ve been in a dark place since Jiminy Cricket’s passing. Real dark. You said the only thing I could do for you was bring you a drink big enough to drown in.

Well, I hope you were serious.

I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but I found that bottle of Absinthe Doc keeps hidden in the mines. I’ve got a little Sherry left in my flask, and Hansel and Gretel melted down part of a window to make you the simple syrup. I’m going to pour you a drink that equals about half your body weight then down the rest for myself. Jiminy might not approve, but I think he’d understand.

Tinkerbell’s Absinthe Tinkle

½ shot Absinthe
½ shot Sherry
¼ shot Sweet Vermouth
1 dash Orange Bitters
1 tsp Simple Syrup
Handful of Ice
2 shots Tonic Water
Lemon Wedge
Slice of Cucumber

Pour the Absinthe, Sherry, Sweet Vermouth, Orange Bitters, and Simple Syrup into a cocktail shaker. Top it off with a handful of ice and shake it like you’re beating away the bad dreams.

Strain the contents of the shaker into a martini glass. Top it with the Tonic Water and stir gently with a straw. Run the sliced lemon along the edge of the glass then squeeze it into the middle of the drink. Garnish the glass with a slice of cucumber.
